Woodland Theatre has a true “heart of the forest” feel, where quiet surroundings amplify the sounds of nature. Deep in the forest, this section offers a sense of privacy.
A seasonal stream meanders along its eastern edge, creating a natural valley that separates Woodland Theatre from the rest of the forest.
Gentle rolling hills with winding trails add character to this easily walkable section of the forest. In spring and summer, the lush canopy overhead provides ample shade, invoking a secluded and tranquil feel.
You and your loved ones can visit your tree and the entire forest during the spring, summer, and fall. The Rock River forest is open for regular visiting hours from May–October, Thursday–Monday. Just contact our team to make an appointment in advance. We’ll share travel recommendations to make the experience special.
Visits to the Rock River forest can be accommodated over the winter, weather permitting. If you would like to visit the forest from November–April, contact us at (773) 867-5784 (call or text) or by emailing rock.river@betterplaceforests.com.
