What makes this forest special
Most of the redwoods in this forest are 50–150 years old and have the potential to live for 2,000 years. At home among the redwoods are evergreen tanoaks, Douglas firs, hemlocks and myrtles. When you purchase a memorial tree in Point Arena, you contribute to the lasting protection of forestland and wildlife habitats that your loved ones can enjoy – now and for years to come.

What you’re protecting
Better Place Forests Point Arena provides habitat to some of California’s most iconic species, from bald eagles to banana slugs. Within the mixed stands of coastal redwood, you find a few small stands of old-growth redwood forest, a relatively rare section of “pygmy forest,” and a seasonal creek that provides refuge for wildlife, including the California Giant Salamander.

Point Arena, CAOur team will help you plan a forest memorial to create an experience that’s right for you, and the ashes of loved ones and pets can join your tree in the future if you choose. When the time comes, ashes are mixed with local soil and placed at the base of your tree, becoming part of the forest.
To choose your tree, you can book an online forest tour with one of our advisors. For more information, visit How Better Place Forests Works.
