We love the moss at the base of this tree. Moss is a sign of good air quality and moisture. It also has a couple of nurse logs that offer nutrients and protection from disease. In other words, this is a well taken care of tree.

This tree looks spectacular as the sun sets and bounces off the bark. The spacing around the red oak has much to be desired as well. Finally, the views of the ridge lines from this tree truly exemplify all the attributes of Lookout Bluff. This tree is a monument in every sense of the word.

Tucked into the forest, this beautiful tree is nestled amongst others and surrounded by boulders. It has a feeling of peace and serenity as well as strength and resilience.

A lovely young tree living amongst grasses and a ton of wild blueberries. It has its own little space with just a few neighboring trees. There is a perfect boulder a few feet away to sit on and admire this hickory.

This gigantic tree boasts three stunning trunks. I can imagine crawling up in this tree and feeling like I was in the center of a group hug. All that mountain laurel blooming in the spring makes this tree feel like it has its own secret garden.

A perfect location - accessible and close enough to the main trail, but slightly removed the welcome house. This strong sturdy tree looks imposing but I know its acorns feed the wildlife throughout the year. Long live this gentle giant!

Easily accessible off the trail and slightly elevated, this tree's bark is so bright and pale that it stands out from a distance. I'm a sucker for a mossy, thriving trunk!
