  • Provides food for wildlife with nutrient-dense acorns
  • Known for brilliant fall color
  • Important habitat for cavity-nesting birds and small animals
  • Sun-loving species
  • Lumber is highly-prized for its durability, strength and attractive grain

  • Immerse yourself in this deeply tranquil, private section of the forest
  • Explore the valley (created by a seasonal stream) that edges Woodland Theatre
  • Walk easy winding trails through rolling hills, with lush shade in spring and summer

Woodland Theatre has a true “heart of the forest” feel, where quiet surroundings amplify the sounds of nature. Deep in the forest, this section offers a sense of privacy.

A seasonal stream meanders along its eastern edge, creating a natural valley that separates Woodland Theatre from the rest of the forest.

Gentle rolling hills with winding trails add character to this easily walkable section of the forest. In spring and summer, the lush canopy overhead provides ample shade, invoking a secluded and tranquil feel.
