Make a plan, make a difference
If we don’t plan early, loved ones often default to traditional choices. With an alternative plan, you can help counter the environmental impact of traditional burials:

• Cemeteries occupy 1 million acres of land in the U.S.

• 20 million feet of hardwood, 64,500 tons of steel, and 1.6 million tons of concrete are used by the funeral industry each year.*

• Every year, the U.S. alone uses more than 5 million gallons of harsh embalming chemicals. Nearly 800,000 gallons of formaldehyde end up in the ground each year.**
