Daily Operations
Can I still visit the forest?
Yes, we love when you and your loved ones come to the forest! We require that you call or email to book an appointment before visiting all of our forest locations. You can book a visit by emailing support@betterplaceforests.com or calling 415-851-7138.
The Point Arena and Santa Cruz forests remain open year round. The Berkshires, Flagstaff, Lake Arrowhead, Litchfield Hills, Rock River, St. Croix Valley, and Yosemite Gateway forests have limited operations during the winter and are fully open for the spring, summer, and fall seasons.
Can I still have a Forest Memorial?
Yes, you can still have a Forest Memorial. Our team will continue to support the Forest Memorial planning process, as well as the experience of combining ashes with local soil and returning ashes to the earth.
How do I get my Memorial Marker?
The process to get a Memorial Marker for your tree is unchanged. You can get a Memorial Marker as part of your Forest Memorial planning process, or if you would like an additional Memorial Marker as a memento, we’re happy to help.
To start this process,
email: forestmemorials@betterplaceforests.com
or call: 415-851-7138
How do I schedule a Forest Memorial?
You can schedule a Forest Memorial by
emailing: forestmemorials@betterplaceforests.com

How will things be different for me/my descendants when I visit the forest?
Visiting the forest with our nonprofit status will feel the same as visiting the forest today. We hope to provide additional in-forest events in the future.
How can I add additional spreading rights to my tree? Pets?
You can add additional spreading rights by emailing support@betterplaceforests.com or calling 415-851-7138.
Nonprofit Status
What is a nonprofit?
A nonprofit is an organization that exists to serve a mission rather than generate profits for owners or shareholders. As a nonprofit, Better Place Forests will no longer have shareholders. Nonprofits reinvest their proceeds to support and sustain their programs—in our case, the forests.
Can I make a donation?
We are still in the process of obtaining our tax-exempt status. As soon as that process is complete, we can accept donations.
Contract & Payments
Does my contract change now that you’re a nonprofit?
Your contract remains valid. No need to sign any additional paperwork.
How do I make payments on my tree?
You can continue making payments on your tree in the same manner; monthly charges will continue. If you would like to change your payment method, you can do so by emailing support@betterplaceforests.com or calling 415-851-7138.
