Commonly asked questions
Where is the Western Sierra forest located?
Our newest forest in California is located in a welcoming and mature 48-acre forest in the town of Pollock Pines, just 15 minutes from Placerville and one hour from South Lake Tahoe.
What tree species are in the forest?
You can choose from a variety of classic Sierra tree species, including ponderosa pines, sugar pines, incense cedars, douglas firs, white firs, black oaks, and bigleaf maples.
When will the forest open?
The short answer is we don’t have a date yet. To get the Western Sierra Forest ready to open, we need to clear pathways, inventory the trees and have an arborist look them over, hire local staff and more. We are not taking deposits to reserve a Memorial Tree at the moment. Sign up for email updates and we’ll announce a date as soon as we can!
